TOW With the Jellyfish. Well what did you think - worth waiting for? I loved the bit with the jellyfish, not to mention CC in a bikini!! Also, why didn't Ross admit he had not read the letter? Admittedly it would have made no difference to its content, but their break-up might not have been so vicious if they hadn't just slept together! I was also pleased to see Phoebe eventually bonding with her mother. Looks like the potential Chandler/Monica thing is on an indefinite hold too, as 'you will always be the guy who peed on me'! What a shame! Joey's inept intro. was amusing too! BTW how did Bonnie get sunburnt at night? I've probably missed out half the good bits, but hell, I've only just finished watching it! TOW the Cat I didn't think last nights episode was nearly as good as last week, but it did have its moments. Ross tricking Rachel into calling Chip, when he was really seeing Monica, for example. I think Phoebe reached new heights of eccentricity with believing the spirit of her mother was in the cat, and I really cringed for Ross when he was forced to apologize for his remarks for the sake of friendship. Is Joey stupid or what! Not only getting himself trapped in the entertainment centre AGAIN, but the apartment being robbed, while he was stuck! It does seem unlikely though, that in an entry controlled apartment block that the thief could walk up & down several flights of stairs with items like the leather chairs without being challenged! TOW the 'Cuffs Better than last week I thought, but not as good as the first one. I liked the bit where Rachel comes into the Guys apartment & finds Joanna there, especially when Joey imitates creaking bedsprings! Also, couldn't you just tell that Joey was going to end up buying something from the salesman. He is so gullible sometimes. I though the bit with Monica's false nails & the quiches was too much like Rachel & the engagement ring though, but I'm glad to see she cleared the air a bit with her mother though. The best part of the show though, just had to be when Chandler was handcuffed to the chair by Joanna & when Rachel found & freed him, the deals she offered him to be cuffed back up again! That part just cracked me up! What the show did prove for me though was that it can be just as entertaining without Ross & Rachel being the centre of attention, in fact Ross was virtually non-existent in this episode. I'm glad to see the writers spreading storylines between the characters more. TOW the Ballroom Dancing Another good one, I thought. What on earth has happened to Mr.Treeger though, he seems to have changed personality from his (admittedly very limited) previous appearances. He seemed friendly & helpful before, now he really let fly at Rachel, reducing her to tears, although in a way I was glad someone told her some home truths about herself, she couldn't completely deny what he said, could she! When Joey went down to complain on Rachel's behalf, it really was a shock to hear Mr.Treeger threaten to evict the girls! But to blackmail Joey into giving him ballroom dancing lessons to save them was hilarious! What about when Monica asked Joey to demonstrate his dance moves, but he couldn't, as he couldn't lead! That bit with Chandler & Ross at the gym was so predictable, it was obvious that Ross was going to get signed up! Why they didn't just cancel their D/D at the bank rather than trying to close their accounts though, I don't know. I loved the part when Phoebe really dressed up her feet over the massage client she had a crush on, that was so funny! When she bit his butt, it was obvious she was unable to resist him, even though it eventually got her fired! TOW Joey's New Girlfriend I really enjoyed this episode, definitely one of the best of the series so far. It started off well with Ross making an idiot of himself flaunting this woman's phone number in front of Rachel, until Phoebe blew her nose on the piece of paper! The part where Monica later let the cat out of the bag about the reality of their dates was hilarious, first Ross then Rachel having their ego shattered! What about Phoebe's desperate attempts to re-catch he cold to preserve her new sexy singing voice, kissing Gunther, licking Monica's cup etc! The main storyline though was Joey & Kathy. I have to admit I was a little disappointed, after all I'd heard about her from US spoilers, I almost expected her to look like a supermodel but she is really relatively plain-looking. Chandler is in absolute torment over her, she is so compatible with him, but she is JOEY'S girlfriend! What about his wild irrational chase of her through the streets and his performance at the restaurant when he told Joey how he really felt about Kathy, but Joey thought he was just putting on an act. It's going to be intriguing to see how that storyline develops! TOW the Dirty Girl I'm afraid to say it, but that had to be the worst episode of the series so far. Normally I comment on the best parts here, but I'm a little stuck because I can hardly think of any! There were one or two moments of course, like Ross freaking out about the mess while trying to make out, but they were few & far between. I just hope next week's is better, IMO it can't be any worse! I didn't know Monica was unemployed though, I thought she was working at Pete's restaurant? TOW Chandler Crosses the Line Definite improvement on last week I thought, although several have been better this series. I never thought I'd hear anyone play music worse the Phoebe, but Ross's was simply abysmal! Only Phoebe appreciated it, and we KNOW she has a weird taste in music. That bit about Monica & the orange juice was great! Joey was his usual self, two-timing Kathy, IMO he deserved to lose her to Chandler, but the haircut scene and the kiss and the awkward 'yearning' scene after were all brilliant. I have to give credit to Chandler for blowing his savings to refurnish the apartment, and making his gutsy confession, but I just wonder how long it will take Joey to forgive him? (Another thing I liked was that at least Ross & Rachel weren't fighting this week) TOW Chandler in a Box Certainly better than the last several episodes, although I think my expectations had been raised too high by the US NG's hype of this episode. The situation with Monica inviting Richards son to thanksgiving, reminded me of the Russ situation, where only she wasn't freaked out by it (for a while anyway)! It's a wonder anyone gives Rachel any gifts at all if she keeps exchanging them - talk about ungrateful, she simply couldn't get away with that here in the UK without the receipts! She'd soon lose the goodwill of her friends if she kept asking for them simply for exchanges! With Chandler & Joey, I thought at one point Joey was actually going to hit him, but the box saved C. at least that! He wasn't even allowed to make his one- liners! I wonder if he suffered from withdrawal symptoms? :-) TOW They're Going To Party! I thought this one was fairly average as episodes go. The main think for me was about Rachel's job. During & after the interview was the first time I had felt sorry for her for quite a while. Bit of a shock though when they killed off her boss! I also found it funny when the Guys realized they're getting too old to live it up like they used to, now they're 29. I know exactly how they feel! Wasn't it a weird way for Monica to get a job though, through slagging off the place in a magazine - I get a funny feeling it won't last! I wonder how the owner found where she lived? I just knew that Pheebs was going to cave when Monica turned down the job to run the catering business though. TOW the Girl from Poughkeepsie Another reasonable episode, probably about the same rating as last week. The main points that spring to mind were Rachel's 'fling' and Chandler getting into trouble with her, both for telling his workmates she only wanted a fling & then for saying she really wanted a real relationship. There was also the Monica/Joey/Restaurant line too, which I felt was the main plot of the episode. Monica hiring Joey just to fire him & intimidate her rebellious staff was hilarious, especially when Joey bottled out of confronting Monica at first! On the series as a whole - there just doesn't seem to be an underlying theme giving the show a direction, unlike in previous series with the Ross/Rachel line. The lack of continuity between episodes is therefore plain to see and detracts somewhat from the individual shows. TOW Phoebe's Uterus I loved this one, it was one of the best of the series for me! Phoebe didn't half get a surprise when she found what Frank & Alice wanted for a wedding gift! So much for Phoebe's mother dissuading her from surrogacy, with the puppy, in the end THAT was what persuaded her to do it (and she lost the puppy)! What about when Chandler messed up his one-liner - I really loved the way Monica said 'Yur stoopid'! Wasn't that typical Chandler though, when he was insecure about sleeping with Kathy after she'd been Joey's girlfriend. He's always been uptight that Joey is better with women than him! His sex chat with Monica & Rachel was hilarious, especially Monica & the counting!!! Right at the end, how did Kathy know that it was Monica who helped inspire Chandlers 'performance'! I liked the cafeteria scene as well with Ross & Joey extracting some revealing confessions from their co-workers, while breaking down the barrier between the two 'classes' TOW the Embryos Another fairly OK episode, nothing exceptional but it did have its moments. I thought I'd seen Rachel mean when she snipes at Ross but that was nothing compared to when she was woken at 6am by the Guys rooster! Despite the title, the main theme of the show was certainly the apartment switch though. The way the competition started & especially some of the questions, were the highlight of the show for me. What about Rachel's reaction to having to switch apartments, and there was Monica's wild bets to try & win the apartment back! The only significant part of the 'Uterus' storyline for me was the group hug at the end when Phoebe was confirmed pregnant. It's always nice to see their petty squabbles ended instantly like that! TOW Rachel's Crush Another fairly average episode last night, I thought. The main themes seemed to me to be Chandler's jealousy of Kathy's acted sex scenes. Reminiscent of Ross in S3 I thought! Also there was Rachel making a total fool of herself over Josh! Monica's desperate attempts to stay the hostess despite having the smaller apartment. But the killer bit for me was at the end - when Rachel says to Chandler (something like) 'Just because you had a fight doesn't mean it was OK for Kathy to sleep with her co-star' then Ross pipes up with 'It might be if you though you were on a break!' TOW Joey's Dirty Day Definitely one of the better episodes this series for me. My favourite storyline was Chandler's moping & the girl's attempts to gee him out of it. The strip club, with the girls pretending to act like guys was just so funny! In the end though, it was the girls creating in Chandler's mind the lesbian fantasy that finally snapped him out of his depression, and what about his line 'I just want to have sex with strippers & my friends!' What about Rachel - her dreaded jealousy flares up again. She is so desperate for Joshua to like her & getting nowhere, while her setting Ross up on a blind date with Emily was spectacularly successful! It was ironic that her (totally insincere) comments about 'moving on' came back to haunt her at the end, when Ross actually HAD moved on. Rachel's horrified 'Noooooo' said it all! The storyline of the show's title was very much a minor one for me. Even Charlton Heston's appearance couldn't rescue it. ISTM that it has always been virtually impossible for the writers to get Joey's role in the show to be prominent. He always seems to be superseded by the others storylines. TOW All the Rugby I thought this was one of the better ones this series. Firstly, the dreaded Janice appears again! It was so funny (& expensive!) the measures Chandler was prepared to take to get away from her & having to go all the way to Yemen to do it! What a wonderful piece of neurotic behaviour from Monica about the switch! Getting the building plans, electricians, digging holes in the walls & floor (and feeble attempts at hiding them behind pictures!) In the end, all to no avail, as we finally discover it controls the guys TV! Ross must REALLY be falling for Emily, considering what a fool he made of himself over the Rugby! It looked like he was Mike Tyson's punchbag! I'll be happy if the rest of the series remains this good! TOW the Fake Party Another episode I quite liked. Two main storylines - Phoebe and the meat, & Rachel's increasingly desperate attempts to seduce Josh! It was funny to see Pheebs trying so hard to resist her pregnancy induced cravings for meat, even trying to fool them with Soya, but in the end, it took a rare outing from Joey's sensitive side to solve the problem! I suspect his meat cravings may become even stronger than hers over the next 6 months! How pathetic did Rachel look though, in her attempts to get Josh interested in her! First the letter in the coat, and then the instant party (never mind the others plans)! The dress zip incident showed the usual Joey was still alive & kicking though! The spin the bottle game was amusing too, especially when Rachel thought she was finally getting to kiss Josh, then they all got distracted. I really thought Rachel might just jump Josh though, after even Joey's suggestion of removing her bra under her dress failed! Finally though she admitted to Josh what she was up to and, very belatedly, he admitted his interest in her. What I was relieved & delighted to see, was that Ross & Rachel FINALLY seem to have gotten over their anger towards each other, their little chat in the corridor was nice to see (even if what is rumoured to happen in later episodes shows STILL unresolved feelings)! About Ross & Emily though, the actors still seem unable to persuade us that there is any chemistry between them, unlike the instant spark between Ross & Rachel obvious since the pilot. TOW the Free Porn IMO, on the whole a below par episode, perhaps not the worst of the season but not far off it. As usual, three main storylines: The free porn, Ross & Emily, and Phoebes triplets. Fairly amusing to see how, as the show went on, even the girls were becoming 'brainwashed' by the porn channel! The guys desperate attempts not to lose the channel raised a few chuckles too, but at the end even they were suffering from 'porn overload'! :-) Don't know about you, but I thought the Ross/Emily appearing at each others door was just such a cliché, and despite their words, I STILL see no spark between them! The 'Phoebe's triplets' thing was only really funny when she tried to work out ways of making some extra money for them, especially the 'relaxicab', although Frank & Alice's rapid change in reaction when they realized the financial consequences of raising triplets was well acted. For me however, the most noteworthy part of the show was during the relaxicab scene. Specifically, the way Chandler & Monica were cuddling up on that chair! Sure, they've always been comfortable together, but for me, this was of an order of magnitude more significant! Perhaps this is all part of the build up to the reputed season 4 finale incident? Any opinions? TOW Rachel's New Dress I thought this one was great - one of the best of the season, certainly a vast improvement on last week! Usual pattern of 3 storylines: Phoebe's babies names, Ross & Emily, Rachel & Josh. Wasn't Chandler crafty with his use of sympathy & reverse psychology to get one of the babies named after him! His arguments with Joey were one of the shows highlights. Is Rachel ever going to get anywhere with Josh? No she has finally got him interested in her, so many obstacles keep getting in the way. Firstly, his freaking out about the Rooster & the Duck, then his parents arriving back early with Rachel in her nightdress! It was hard to stop laughing when she was forced to pretend it was a real dress and go out in it! & what about her line about her boob popping out 'That's all right, I've got nice boobs'! For me though, the funniest part of the show was Ross's jealousy of Emily showing Susan round London (Nice to see Carol & Ben though, first time for ages!). He was really paranoid about the thought of Susan stealing another woman from him! I did feel sorry for him when all three girls had a go at him about his jealousy, and was disappointed to see the relapse in relations between him & Rachel again. Though right at the end, it did appear as if he was starting to come to terms with his jealousy a bit. TOW All the Haste I thought this one was about middle standard as episodes go. Not spectacularly good, but it did have its moments. Unusually though, it only had two storylines rather than three. Ross & Emily's engagement & The apartment switch (back) I agree with what US writers have been saying, that Ross seemed more concerned to keep Emily in the US, rather than making sure of his own feelings for her. He seemed far too clingy to me! For once he SHOULD have listened to Joey's advice that they were going too fast. The most telling thing for me was when he told the gang they were getting married - the expression on Rachel's face spoke volumes. Is she over him - BULLSHIT! About the apartment swap, until now Rachel had hardly seemed bothered about the swap, so her whining this episode seemed excessive, it's always been Monica that's been more vociferous. While the Knicks tickets thing totally backfired on the girls, I thought it was a bit off, the way they swapped apartments back secretly, didn't the result of the contest mean ANYTHING to them? I loved the way Joey reacted to Chandlers comments on the Knicks though, you'd think he'd insulted the deceased at a funeral! The way the guys finally gave up the girl's apartment was totally weird though. After Chandler's strenuous objections, to give it up just on some male sexual kick seems incredible (though hilarious)! No doubt, as usual I've forgotten some important scene, so I have to comment on them when I've been reminded! TOW the Wedding Dresses. I don't know about you, but I thought this was perhaps the best of the season so far! Three storylines again : Joey's snoring, the Wedding Dresses, Rachel's Freak Out. Joey's snoring seemed to be a very minor plot, so I'll ignore that. Didn't Monica look good in that wedding dress, I think she had a dose of 'Rachel nipple-itus' though (not that I'm complaining!!!). The whole thing about practicing catching the bouquet, and not wanting to take off the dress, even still wearing the garter (wow, what great legs!) (Paul takes his dose of bromide!) The best part was Rachel freaking out though. She is so NOT over Ross, as even she admitted! It was so pathetic & needy the way she acted to Joshua, you could hardly blame him for running! What about the 'too long' hugs with Ross - she pushed him away because she enjoyed it too much, at least on the second one! Oh well, on 10 days till the finale now (due to time dilation, 10 years in Friends fan time)! :-) Firstly - TOW the Invitations All I will say about this is - What was the bloody point! ************************************************************************ Secondly - TOW the Worst Best Man Ever Didn't think this was very good either, though there WERE one or two high spots. The 'Best Man' argument between Joey & Chandler was funny, and the part with Joey sleeping with the stripper was just SO like him! The 'lost ring' panic was good too, especially when they found it was the duck rather than the stripper who had it. Rachel's agonizing over the wedding invite was poignant though, and Rachel & Monica's reticence around the moody Phoebe was probably the best part of the show. Not much more to say, other than - ONLY 2.5 days to go! TOW Ross's Wedding Absolutely brilliant - well worth all the hype! So many good bits that I hardly know where to begin, but I'll try :-) Typical Monica panic at the beginning, and I liked where Phoebe used hugs as a pretext to avoid getting up! Her 'Photo Therapy' was a dead loss though, it had exactly the opposite effect than the one intended! Didn't Rachel have trouble getting on a flight though! And Phoebe's desperate phone calls were so funny, I'm glad she heard the ceremony though! In London Joey & the map was hilarious, and who could blame Chandler for pretending not to be with him when he bought that hat (from Richard Branson!). He had a good day round London though, as he met Fergie too! Both Emily & Ross were freaking out, and I loved the bit with Ross & the Trousers! Ross managed save the day by doing up the ruined church though. Emily's parents were so nasty & cheating though, I'm not surprised Jack Gellar nearly come to blows with them over the fake wedding items on the bill! Typical Joey cure for his homesickness I thought! ***AND NOW*** Even though I knew it was coming, I still nearly had a coronary when Monica's head popped up from under Chandler's duvet!!! :-) They didn't seem all that drunk beforehand though, so that's one theory shot down, and they seemed very enthusiastic about a repeat performance once past their early embarrassment! If it had been ANYONE other than Joey on the receiving end of Chandler & Monica's weird denial remarks, they almost certainly would have been rumbled though! It was so great that Rachel finally heard some 'home' truths on the plane from Steven Fry. That along with seeing Ross & Emily embrace finally dissuaded her from interfering! Finally - the Vows The shock when Ross said Rachel instead of Emily almost lifted the church roof (or would have if it had one)! :-) It's a wonder that it didn't send Phoebe into labour as well! Well that's it for this season - what do you think will happen?
